Dr. and Mrs. Newby

Alicia and Brent were married in a beautifully, personal ceremony with a cocktail hour and reception following, all at The Hilton President in Downtown Kansas City.

The morning started early with Alicia and her girls getting their hair and make-up done and then it was time for the first look with her groom!

After the first look with her groom, the bride did a first look with her big brothers. Unfortunately, right before her wedding, the bride lost her father so she could not do a father/daughter first look. It was quite an emotional day for her and her family, but her brothers stepped-up for her in a way that only big brothers can.

Then the entire bridal party got together to do bridal party pictures before the ceremony. Right as they headed outside to go around downtown it started to rain! They didn’t let that ruin the fun though. They snapped a few photos in the lobby and then the whole group headed upstairs to the ballroom where they took photos that completely captured the character of The Hilton President. And of course because is Alicia was SUCH a fun bride - her and her girls had to head downstairs to the bar for a pre-ceremony drink!

Alicia’s sweet friend Lacey sang, God Bless the Broken Road while the grandparents and parents were being seated. Then the bridal party made their way down the aisle and when it was time Alicia’s brothers escorted her down the aisle to her groom.

They incorporated a sand ceremony into the ceremony, as well as a poem for her father that didn’t leave a dry eye in the house. It was a very sweet and touching moment and a great way to honor her father. Then they had the traditional vows, rings, and kiss and were finally announced:

Dr. and Mrs. Newby

After the ceremony the bride, groom, and bridal party headed around downtown Kansas City to snap a few photos while their guests enjoyed a cocktail hour. Then it was time for the grand introductions and reception!

Their reception was, just like the two of them - FUN! It was full of drinks, dancing, and laughs. After being introduced as the new Dr. and Mrs. Newby, they shared their first dance then it was time for dinner. After dinner, the Maid of Honor, Best Man, and eldest brother of the bride shared loving and sweets toasts. Then it was time to cut the cake! The shared their love for Kansas City with a sweet KC Chiefs cake for the Groom’s Cake. While the cake was being served Alicia shared a dance with her brothers and then Brent shared a dance with his mother. After a quick toss of the bouquet and garter it was time to open the dance floor! They partied late into the night and then ended the night with a sparkler exit and ride around Kansas City in the Bentley!

Thank you for allowing us to be apart of your sweet and special day!
